Farming Connectivity Improvement
The Brief
Summit Telecommunications was contacted by the manager of an agricultural business to help resolve ongoing communication and internet issues at their main office. In addition, they needed improved communication for their workers in the shed, as well as CCTV cameras for monitoring the fuel bowser and equipment.
Our Approach
After discussing the business’s current challenges and future goals, the Summit team, in conjunction with the farm manager, developed a tailored plan to solve all the existing issues. Summit’s IT department created a secure internet network, featuring Starlink at the main office and a dedicated wireless link to the workshed, where CCTV cameras and access points were installed. Summit’s data cabling technicians handled the installation and configuration.
This solution improved mobile communication for staff through Wi-Fi calling. The dedicated wireless link also enabled seamless network communication between the shed and the main office, providing clear CCTV visibility of shed equipment and monitoring fuel bowser usage.

At Glenrowan we are in a black spot for internet access and the only real spot we could access minimal internet was at the main office.
Internet access is very important and necessary to our business to access information and use the numerous apps that are required in our daily use on the property from agronomy, livestock movements and health as well as safety and mechanical applications.
